A Murfreesboro grading firm publishes $1,500–$6,000 for a new 100–200 ft gravel drive and $500–$1,500 to refresh one [1]. Longer farm lanes are priced by the foot after a walk. National 2026 guides run about $1.25–$4.00 per sq ft installed [2].
Middle TN rock is limestone over clay, so a good drive uses crusher run for the base, a crown to shed water, and fabric on soft ground [2].
Culverts
Culverts are usually priced with the drive. Wilson County's Road Commission sizes the metal culvert pipe and requires at least 24 ft [3]. Sumner County charges a $50 or $150 driveway permit and sizes the pipe [4]. One Middle TN contractor (Coffee County) publishes $1,800–$4,500 for a standard 18-inch driveway culvert [5].
Permits
A new entrance onto a state route needs a TDOT driveway permit; county roads are the county highway department's call [2][3][4]. Your contractor can tell you which applies.
